About Kynetyk
Kynetyk sits at the intersection of AI and human experience. We write about what's actually happening in AI, build products that put humans and AI on the same team, and help companies figure out how to make AI genuinely useful.
The name comes from "kinetic"—the energy of things in motion. We believe AI is most valuable when it's moving alongside people, not replacing them or operating in isolation.
Who we are
Two founders with different backgrounds — and a shared conviction about where AI is headed. Josh is a scientist by training — a PhD in biology who fell in love with data, learned code to work with it, and has been building and leading teams at the intersection of science, technology, and strategy ever since. Chad comes from finance and economics — a systems thinker who's spent his career modeling and designing systems for business operations, trade execution, quantitative analysis, and even games. He knows how things actually work under the hood. We came at AI from different directions and landed in the same place: it should be useful, honest, and maybe even fun.
What we believe
AI is a tool, a collaborator, and sometimes a surprise. The interesting questions aren't about whether AI will change things—it will—but about how we shape that change. How do we build AI systems that actually help? How do we test them honestly? How do we stay curious without losing our skepticism?
We're not AI optimists or AI pessimists. We're AI realists. That means taking the technology seriously, being honest about what works and what doesn't, and staying focused on outcomes that matter to real people.
What we do
We believe the best way to understand AI is to use it—across as many contexts as possible. Between us, we've built biotech companies and trading systems, run ad campaigns and server racks, designed products and designed experiments. That breadth isn't a detour; it's the whole point. AI touches everything, and we'd rather test that claim than repeat it.
